Albert Fert publishes “Flight and Achievements of Spintronics. Beautiful Adventures in the Quantum World”

On the occasion of a book signing event organized on September 24 at the Albert Fert Laboratory, members of the SPIN Research Program and the laboratory were able to exchange with him about this work
Published on September 2, 2026 by Odile Jacob editions, “Flight and Achievements of Spintronics, Beautiful Adventures in the Quantum World” traces Albert Fert’s journey, from his childhood in southern France to his discovery of giant magnetoresistance in 1988. Between personal accounts and explanations around skyrmions, neuromorphic spintronics, and orbitronics, the work offers a unique perspective on the history of a rapidly expanding scientific field while interweaving his personal path.
