Bernard Dieny, CEA Research Director at SPINTEC receives the Clément Codron Prize/Codron Fautz Foundation/Institut de France Foundation. Founded in 2002, this prize aims to recognize outstanding scientific contributions in the field of applied technology by French or French-speaking researchers, or researchers of any other nationality when the research warrants it.
He is being awarded this prize for his work in magnetism over the past 40 years. Founder of the SPINTEC (CEA/CNRS/Université Grenoble Alpes) laboratory in Grenoble, he studies the fundamental aspects of spin electronics and its applications for magnetic recording and ultra-low power electronics. He also explores the magnetism-biology interface for innovative treatments for cancer and diabetes.
